Daisy Jones & The Six Summary
“Daisy Jones & The Six” is a novel that tells the story of a 1970s rock group and their lead singer, Daisy Jones, and reveals the mystery behind their infamous breakup. Daisy is a young girl growing up in L.A. during the late 1960s, and dreams of singing at the Whisky a Go-Go. She starts sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and her voice is getting noticed. On the other hand, Billy Dunne leads another band, The Six, and on the eve of their first tour, he finds out that his girlfriend, Camila, is pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.
As both bands become more popular, a producer realizes that putting Daisy and Billy together could lead to supercharged success. Their collaboration makes history, but nobody knows the real reason why Daisy Jones & The Six split at the absolute height of their popularity until now. The novel explores the themes of love, drugs, sex, rock and roll, and the complexity of human relationships.
Winner for Best Historical Fiction in 2019 on Goodreads.com.

Daisy Jones & The Six Book Review
This story was absolutely beautiful. I love music and whenever this book got incredibly deep about the lyrics chosen for songs it reminded me so much of my favorite artists. Aside from the lyrical moments, this book depicts incredibly powerful women characters. None of them take any crap from anybody, and the relationships and bonds among the women is exceptional. My absolute other favorite part of this book is the setting. I’m a sucker for the 70s and the music that was birthed in that decade. I wasn’t alive during the time, but I grew up on the music and it’s still a large part of who I am today. If I could transport myself into this book, I would. The fact that it’s coming to Amazon Prime is the closest I can get to feeling like I’m actually there with all of the beautifully written characters.
Also, spoiler, I love that Julia was the interviewer the whole time! To all of the readers out there, I highly recommend this book and the rest of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s published novels (especially The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo).
Daisy Jones & The Six Amazon Prime Series
I’m incredibly excited for the upcoming Amazon Prime Series adaptation of this book. The Daisy Jones & The Six cast for the series seems absolutely perfect with Riley Keough (Daisy Jones), Sam Claflin (Billy Dunne), Suki Waterhouse (Karen Sirko), and Camila Morrone (Camila Dunne) to name a few of the actors. Taylor Jenkins Reid depicted a tragically beautiful story inspired by Fleetwood Mac and it’s only right the story is coming to screens. The Daisy Jones & The Six release date for Amazon Prime is Friday, March 3. Episodes will be released in the following batches:
- March 3: Episodes 1-3
- March 10: Episodes 4-6
- March 17: Episodes 7-8
- March 24: Episodes 9-10
